Around the Corner

Around the corner I have a friend
In this great city that has no end,
Yet the days go by and weeks rush on,
And before I know it, a year is gone

And I never see my old friends face,
For life is a swift and terrible race,
She knows I like her just as well
As in the days when I rang her bell,

And she rang mine.
We were younger then,
And now we are busy, tired men.
Tired of playing a foolish game,
Tired of trying to make a name.
"Tomorrow" I say "I will call on Jane"
"Just to show that I'm thinking of her"

But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,
And distance between us grows and grows.
Around the corner!-yet miles away,
"Here's a telegram sir-"
"Jane died today."
And that's what we get and deserve in the end.
Around the corner, a vanished friend

May we never never be like that. as days go by and years pass, maybe it is normal to have lesser things in common and become more immersed in our own individual worlds, but what matters is that we make an effort to still talk to each other, simply, simply to find out what is going on in each other's lives. thats why we have this blog, thats why some of us have our own blogs. to keep YOU all updated. what matters most is that we remember what we have all been through TOGETHER, how we struggled, how we argued, how we slept against each other, how we crapped together, studied together, ponned lectures together, how we were there for each other knowing clearly that we could count on each other no matter wat. how each of us had a lasting impaction on every one else. how we shaped one another's characters and formed the most wonderful 2 yrs of your lives.

we have a bond so special and unique. let us never lose it.

You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith 'coz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me

You were always there for me
The tender wind that carried me
A light in the dark shining your love into my life
You've been my inspiration
Through the lies you were the truth
My world is a better place because of you
