Went back to VJ recently. Feels good to be back in the odac room, kinda feels like going back home. Glad to know that certain traditions still die-hard: Staying back in odac room to mug(someone once said you go to the odac room to socialise not study), the art of climbing roofs still exists(apparently now it's harder because of the presence of security guards), graduating/graduated seniors still write "study hard" or "have the time of your lives"or entries of that kind in the loggie. Anyway, something happened while we were back.

Scenario: Jo and me waiting for bus at bus-stop outside VJ. Junior came up to say hi.

Junior: You guys going parkway?
Jo : Yes

Just then bus 48 arrives. We didn't board the bus.

Junior: Did you know bus 48 goes to parkway?
Jo : Huh?! New service ah?
Junior: No quite long already. Think about 1 yr.

It's funny huh. Makes you feel rather old, like suddenly you realise how long ago it was since you left school, though it seems just like yesterday. Seriously, we ought to go back to relive the good old days. Take a walk down memory lane. But then again maybe we should move on and stop living in the past. Things aren't what they used to be like anymore. Things change;people change. Just as there are new additions to the college, there are also new additions to our lives: new friends, girlfriends/boyfriends, work, uni etc. Our gatherings lately have become muted. We've become so cordial and so shy to let each other in on what's going on in our lives. Yet this is the same bunch of people who did crazy stuff together, shared tears and joy, who used to be able to talk about anything everything. Maybe it's the army. Maybe things will get better when the guys start uni or working. Maybe we should make the girls enlist also. Whatever it is, beneath the laughter and smiles, we just don't connect like before. Maybe it was like this all along, just that we didn't realise. We could joke, tease, insult each other before, but now we're scared to offend. Maybe we have become more sensitive, more mature. Maybe because we don't know each other as well anymore. Maybe because we know that the person won't take it to heart and all the teasing is just in the name of fun. Maybe good friends are like that.
Maybe I'm just talking nonsense here. Maybe it's so hard to forget because we really did have the time of our lives.
