Hey people,

No the ORD-ing pple have not disappeared nor did they not read the blog! we are still alive. ok, i am at least. i have been borrowing lots of books from the library. books on the ocean, corals, aquarium fishes, tom clancy's books. it's good man. sucking in all the knowledge and hopefully will be able to learn more back in school and research. oso, i decided to refurbish my 2 fish tanks! they looked kind of "lok kok" (THEY JUST NID A NEW RENOVATION). well spent q late nights online reading up about how to go about doing it. read up about specific fishes and what to look out for. i must say online forums are really good. haven tried searching for a singaporean forum though. one thing i must comment is that, in singapore, it's kind of hard finding people or fish shopkeepers who know or sells particular fishes whereas in overseas for example, the states, you just need to go around asking for a fish with its scientific name and somehow or rather people understand you and will direct you on how to get it.

got cheated at a fish farm in lim chu kang, near qian hu fish farm. the uncle sold me 3 mbuna fishes (a type of African Lake Malawi fish) telling me that these are also peacock fishes (another type of African Lake Malawi fish) but they are female. When i threw this 3 into my tank, i realized the mistake. -_-" I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THE UNCLE AGAIN. anyways, one of them is a real terror. going around tormenting the other fishes but biting their fins and chasing them. i have quite a number of peacocks whose fins have been nipped. also, there's a super big central american cichlid (black and yellow one for those who can remember it). was really worried that this big guy will eat the rest which are smaller compared to his size of about 6 inches. also, this guy is not a african cichlid and was wondering whether it will mix. well, i am still learning more each time and in future, i hope i will get better. it feels really good just to immerse yourself into the fishes world by looking at them going about doing their stuff. there's one bugger who keeps swimming up and down the tank, it's quite a funny sight.

also, i bought 3 female peacocks that had eggs in their mouth. ever wondered why they have eggs in their mouth? these cichlids(a family name for these type of fishes) are mouth brooders. once the eggs are laid and fertilized, they will pick up the eggs and keep them in their mouth to incubate and when they feel that the fry(baby fishes) is ready to be release, their will let out the fry. excited!

anyway, my planted tank will be put on hold first until i learn more on aquascaping and how to better maintain the plants. hopefully it will be nice. till then STUDY HARD PEEPS and PLAY HARD! woOt
