In Erised: A Synopsis

I assure you, Your Majesty, I have no need to make up any tales. The world provides me with adventures greater than any stories I could have imagined.

Alone in her castle, a queen yearns to know more about the world which lies beyond her reach. In her loneliness, a soldier comes bearing stories of the things that he has seen during his travels throughout the lands. The queen is enchanted by the visions he conjure; yet, doubt creeps in, and she wonders whether the lands of which he speaks truly exist.
A story about stories and story-telling, more than tales are being told as the soldier narrates his experiences to the queen, for these stories shed light on the queen rather than on the soldier, and the act of story-telling itself ultimately becomes an exploration of everyone’s Erised.
